Studying and writing

Hey everyone, how are you?

Yesterday was spent being busy studying for my genealogy course and starting out with my research of my family history. It has been pretty interesting, I’ve found a couple of relatives so far, that I knew about. But it’s still exciting. There is an old myth in the family about it being split up and I’m really looking forward to finding out whether it’s true or not.

I’m on week 3 of the course and it runs for 6 weeks, for a limited amount of time; so I need to make sure that I keep on top of it. There is a lot of information that needs to be taken in. So far I’ve been getting top marks on the quizzes.

I’ve been writing over the last few days, alongside the poetry. I’ve been working, mainly, on the main character of one of my novels; which I haven’t touched in a while. I’ve been developing the character in terms of a summary, what his appearance is like, any habits and how he would be summed up in a speech made about him. These are from my writing course and an article by Novakovich.

I’ve also been brainstorming the conclusion of the short story and what I want it to be like. Keeping in mind that I am constantly thinking of the reader. I’ve been thinking about when I’ve finished a book, especially a crime book, how I feel afterwards. Am I blown away by the ending or am I disappointed? The last thing I want to do is let the reader down, and myself. I have a couple of ideas that I’m working on, but nothing is certain.

I have a busy day today, but am going to get in as much writing as possible.

Thank you for reading, I hope that you have a good day.
