Start of short story

Hey everyone, how are you?

I’ve been trying to start my short story. Although I have the plot in my head it I’m unsure of how to start it.

I’m sure that this is something that all writers find from time to time. That you have the story in your head but find it hard to get it down in paper. I have been throwing ideas of opening lines around and they just don’t sound good enough. If you have any suggestions then let me know in the comments. I will be getting on with the short story today, after a slow start over the weekend. I have been looking through my writing journals to find a character that closely matches the one that I have in my head. If I can’t find one then I will do some character sketches to get some ideas down.

Today I also have to go out and get a couple of things. It means walking again with crutches because my knee is still painful to walk on, especially up and down stairs. But apart from that I am going to be spending the day writing. Thank you for all of you who checked out my previous blog post which contained my latest poem. I really appreciate those who read it and the likes that it got. It really motivates me to write more and get more stuff uploaded. Writing for me is a great way to escape reality and go into my own little world. One where anything can and does happen. It helps with my mental health as well.

I will also be reading some more as well. I read quite a bit yesterday and I am really into the book that I am reading. It is “Armada” by Ernest Cline, he also wrote “Ready Player One.” I find that I read a couple of chapters then I have to put the book down to do something. But not long after I am wanting to pick the book up and read some more. I like books like that. I think I also like it because I am a bit of a gamer. And this book, as well as the other one, is perfect for gamers.

Thank you for reading and I hope that you have a good day.
