Shelved

Hey everyone, how are you?

Yesterday I tried working on the short story. But I ran into the same problem as last time.

Writing

I tried writing the second draft of the short story yesterday. But I ended up running into the same problem as last time. In that it sounded so much better in my head than it did on paper. So, I have shelved it for the time being. It maybe that in time I will go back to it and it will turn out differently. But for now, I am not going to work on it any more. Sometimes ideas work and sometimes they do not. I have other ideas for potential short stories and the novel to work on. So, it is not as though I’m going to have nothing to do.

Today is a bank holiday here in the UK. So, I am not going into the university today to do research. Which means that I am going to be at home the entire day. We have a tradition in our house of having a full English breakfast on bank holidays. The idea is that we can have a meal at the start of the day and then we can get on with everything that needs to be done. It was particularly useful back when I was studying to have this. Today though, I am going to be finishing off my course homework and planning out new ideas for writing.

I also want to get some more reading and drum practice in. Although, it is more likely that it will be done in the afternoon. In the morning I am just going to rest and relax. As yesterday I was not feeling great and a little low. So, I just want to spend some time looking after myself.

Thank you for reading and I hope that you have a good day.

Annette
