Rest and writing

Hey everyone, how are you?

Today, is going to be a rest and writing day. Where I will rest in the morning before writing and reading in the afternoon.


The reason behind resting in the morning is because I am not sleeping well currently. And it is making me very tired when I wake up in the morning. And I am not able to function well until the afternoon. I have been like this on and off for a long time now and it is something that I am trying to get better at. But being an insomniac is making that difficult. So, in the morning I may sleep some more or sit and read for a bit. Just do something relaxing and not stress inducing. I have a new fiction book to read. I gave up on the one I had been reading as I had lost interest in it. I liked it and it was well written, it was just too long for me at the this moment in time. When I am finding reading hard to do. So, I have switched to a crime fiction book by an author who I really like.

In the afternoon, I will sit at my desk and get writing on various things that need to be done. At the top of the list is the PhD proposal as there are deadlines that I need to look up and submit to. These deadlines are non negotiable as I have no control over them. I think that the proposal is going to take most of the afternoon, if not all of the afternoon. So, I am not going to worry about getting other writing tasks done. As that would just be overloading myself, which will just cause me to stress out and then nothing will get done.

In the evening, I will just be chilling again. I don’t like to write in the evening as I find that it eats into my sleep routine and I cannot switch my brain off. Which then stops me from getting to sleep. So, in the evening I may just read some more or get in some gaming or just watch some television. Whichever, I will only do it for a limited time, until it is time for me to go to sleep.

  1. I have a similar problem… I often wake up around 4am and can’t go back to sleep until 6am. Reading and gaming have been extremely helpful though. Good luck to both of us and let’s have a great 2020!
