Tension headaches

Hey everyone, how are you?

I have been managing to get some stuff done, but it has been limited because of a severe tension headache.

I’ve had this headache for four days now. It started on Monday and as I wake today it is still there. It is taking a lot of pain relief to get just a couple hours of relief from it. And in those couple of hours I am having to prioritise which writing and other activities I do. Yesterday, I was determined to get just five minutes of drum practice in, which I did and although it brought my headache back, it was worth it. Just to have five minutes lost in music and channeling some excess energy was very cathartic. I am not able to do much as the painkillers make me very tired and dopey. And I am spending time not looking at screens and in darkness.

The only thing that I have been able to do for any length of time has been reading. I have been getting through the fiction crime book that I started. I am roughly just over half way through and should be able to get it finished over the weekend. It is a good book and I am finding myself getting lost within the story. Wanting to know more about how they are going to solve the crime and not wanting to put the book down. When I do put it down it is only for a couple of minutes before I am picking it back up again to read some more. I am very much enjoying it.

Writing wise, things have been slow because I have not been able to look at screens. Mostly I have been writing by hand. So, I do not have to look at the computer. But there is only so much that I can do by hand, before I have to look something up or check a reference. Today, I am out for part of the day and won’t have much time for writing. I have some errands to do and a appointment to go to. But when I get back I will try and get some more writing done. It will all depend on how my head is. I have looked at studentships and there are some that I am considering applying for and there deadlines are not for a few weeks or months, so, that does give me a bit of time. Which means that I do not have to rush as much.

Thank you for reading and I hope that you have a good day.
