Hey everyone, how are you?
It’s the weekend and that means that it is only a couple more days until I see the specialist.
I am not sure what I am going to be able to do today. I may end up in bed reading, like I have been most of this week. As looking at screens and concentrating makes my head really hurt. It feels as though my head is being stabbed repeatedly. I have been going over the exercises that the doctor gave me and although painful, I am able to do them. I am hoping that it will help strengthen the muscles around my neck and shoulder, which in turn, will help with the tension and pain. I have to do the exercises three times a day. Normally I am terrible with doing these types of exercises but I am making a conscious effort to ensure that I get them done.
I’m also hoping that I have had another good night of sleep. The sleeping tablets from the doctor worked and I slept solidly throughout the night. I am hoping for something similar when this blog goes live at midnight. I am not going to be taking the medication as it is strong and addictive. Also, I was only given a limited supply so want to keep them for when I have not slept for a while. I saw that there was an improvement in how I was feeling mentally yesterday. I did try and get in contact with the doctor about the sleep Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), but he is not in until the middle of next week. I could drop a written message in, but I’ve decided just to wait until my appointment the week after.
Like I have mentioned the only thing that I have been able to do is read. But I am going to try and get some gaming in but I am not hopeful that it will last long. I tried yesterday and I lasted barely an hour before I had to turn it off. But I will not give up that easily. Gaming is an essential distraction for me and I want to do more of it as I have so many games to play. But also, if I keep up with this reading pace I will run out of books to read! Plus it is something that I enjoy and I am not going to let pain get in the way of it.
Thank you for reading and I hope that you have a good day.
