Hey everyone, how are you?
It’s the second day of the weekend and it is time to start my next short story.
I am planning out and starting the first draft of my new short story today. I am really looking forward to it and can not wait to get the story out of my head and down onto paper. I don’t know how much I will get written during this afternoon. I can write from anything up to four or five hours. It depends on how I am feeling and how into the writing I am. I don’t know how long it will be until the short story is up on this site. But I will be uploading it as soon as possible. I will be updating the prose section of this website in the week. I will be writing throughout the week, although the first two days of the week I am busy. But I have time in the middle of the week to write. However, I do have some other writing that I need to get on with as well.
I enjoy writing short stories as I find that they help to free up space in my mind for the novel that I am also writing. The novel is a continual work in progress, although I have key bits of it drafted out, I have the linking parts still to write. Then I have the original draft that I need to rewrite and then a massive type up. When that is done I can see where I am and continue on from there. I don’t plan to write much of the novel this week because I am busy during the week. But I am always thinking about it and thinking of ways to add to the prose that I have written. So, writing the short story will give me more time to think about the novel. I like having stories build up inside my head, but also, it can be distracting.
Because I am writing the short story, it also means that I have finished the review. I finished the review yesterday and sent it off to a friend for her to read. I don’t know if I will post the review on this website, but if you’d like me to then let me know in the comments. I enjoyed writing the review as it was a good writing exercise and one that I will likely do again.
Thank you for reading and I hope that you have a good day.
