Week 6 Of Lockdown

Hey everyone, how are you?

It’s the start of week 6 of lockdown here in the UK and it is also the start of a busy week for me.


Today I kick the week off with a drum lesson. It is going to be in the morning as it has to fit around our schedules. I am looking forward to the drum lesson as I have been practicing a lot. And I am hopi b that he can see an improvement in my playing. I am currently practicing up to three times a day. Two on a single practice pad and once on a practice pad based kit. The lesson itself will be on the practice pad kit. We are doing the lesson over WhatsApp because of the current lockdown. It should be a good time and it’s always nice to see a friend, especially in these times where seeing people is not that easy to do. Also, I have been listening to lots of different music and listening to different variations of drumming. It has been fun and I am hoping to put that into my own style of drumming. I have also learnt a new rudiment, which I am pleased about and just need to practice it more to get it down.

When the drum lesson is over I have writing that I need to continue on with. I need to type up some of the draft section of the book chapter so that I can upload it ready for Wednesday. I have been writing it over the weekend I am I am happy with how it is turning out. I also want to get on with the mind maps of characters for the novel and the short story that I am also writing. I think it will help to make things clearer in my mind when it is done. And that will then make the writing easier to do. I don’t know when the creative writing group is going to start again at the centre. Everything is up in the air because of the Coronavirus and the lockdown. I am hoping though that they will do it over the internet as they have started to do that with other groups. So, fingers crossed for that.

I don’t have any plans or need to go out today. So, I will be at home all day and that is fine with me. I just need to make sure that I am disciplined and focused to get the thing that I need to do done. I want to listen to some more podcasts and I may either do this in the evening when I am chilling or during the day whilst I am writing. It will depend on what mood I am in. And whether I just want something on for background noise or not. I’m hoping that it will be an okay day even though my mental health is still not up to much. I think seeing a friend will help to improve it.
