New Week

Hey everyone, how are you?

A new week and one that I have prepped for as it is going to be busy.

I have a few things that I need and want to do today, I have a meeting and just generally spending time in front of the computer. Yesterday, I managed to get the to do list done and I have a clearer idea of what I am doing throughout the week. I have a meeting in the morning and that will only be for an hour so won’t take too much time out of my day. I want to get the mind map that I mentioned in a previous blog finished and emailed to my co author. Then we can meet and talk about the next move we want to make on the upcoming article. I am very excited to be writing another academic piece so close to finishing the book chapter. The book, “Metanarratives of Disability” is available to pre order on Amazon.

The other piece that I want to get going on today, in order to start off the week well, is the third chapter of the short story. I think these two pieces of writing will be enough to see me through the day. I don’t want to overload myself as that will just stress me out and will end up being counter productive. It may also be hard to write by hand for too long. I have been diagnosed with De Quervains in my wrist. It is to do with the tendon going along to the thumb, it makes it hard to do fine motor movements. I have some sports tape to put on which should help with it. It’s an on going problem and I will go back to the physio if it doesn’t heal with the exercises.

Aside from writing both fiction and non-fiction pieces, I want to read and get in some drum practice throughout the day. Although, I will probably read in the evening when I am relaxing to go to sleep. I am trying to drum five times a week for up to half an hour, which is more than what is recommended with my wrists (I have carpel tunnel in the other one). But I will know if I cannot do it and won’t push it too far, I know my limits.

Thank you for reading and I hope that you have a good day.
