Back At The Desk

Hey everyone, how are you?

I’m going to be glued to the laptop as I have meetings and writing that I need to get done.

Today

It’s going to be an early start as I have much to do before my meetings start late morning and in the early afternoon. Before the first meeting, I need to read through some journals that I found online earlier in the week and see if they will be helpful to the new non-fiction piece that I am writing with a friend. We are in the really early stages of planning and deciding where we’d like to get it published in the future. I’m hoping that the reading will not take too long, as I have other things to do for the afternoon meeting as well. I have them written down from the notes I took at last weeks meeting. We are trying to meet most weeks so that we stay on top of the project and make progress.

After I am done with the meetings I need to get on with some fiction writing. I need to finish off the short story. Even if it is just a draft and then I can go and edit it at a later date. I never edit straight away as I know that I won’t be looking at it with fresh eyes. Whereas, if I leave it a while it will be as though I am reading it for the first time again and therefore more likely to find the mistakes. I also need to get on top of this PhD proposal and I am hoping that my friend and co author can also give me some guidance when we meet online today. As I do feel as though I am in way over my head and the deadline is looming.

I think it will be a day where I am at the laptop until the evening. When I can then relax and unwind. I am half way through a book at the moment and I am trying to read a significant amount each day and finish it soon. It is a good book, well written even if it is not a book I’d normally read. I picked it up because I have read the non-fiction works by this author and I was curious to how he wrote fiction. I don’t think I will keep the book when I have finished it, it will probably go to a charity shop when they have reopened. Overall, it is going to be a busy day, but hopefully a productive one.

Thank you for reading and I hope that you have a good day.

Annette
