Time Away

Hey everyone, how are you?

From tomorrow I will be spending some time away, so I thought I would blog now, as I may not have much internet when I’m away.

Time

I have been thinking over the time that I have not been blogging and I know that I still want to write and blog, but I don’t think that I can blog daily like I use to. I also do not have as much time for writing fiction as I use to. But since I am going to be away for the rest of this week I am going to try and make some headway on the novel. I have some other things that I need to do at the same time, but it will be nice to change it up from academia to fiction writing, it will help my brain switch off. Plus I do not know how long I am going to be away for and I want to take more than I need to in terms of things to work on.

I have not looked at the novel in maybe six months, I am not sure, but I am constantly thinking about it. I know how the first draft is going to end and my aim for the year is to get a skeleton draft done. This is so I can spend the next year fleshing it out before going onto editing. I am still looking to get this book published and it will be the first book of a trilogy. I know that it is going to take a lot of time and that is why I am looking at years in my plan rather than months. Alongside this I am going to be lecturing and writing academically for publication so that I can apply for a PhD by publication. I have some projects that I am already working on for that.

I am going to also get back into writing poetry and novellas, so there will be more content this year on this blog. Which I am thoroughly looking forward to and I am always reading so I am making sure that the creative side of my brain is being filled. I have just finished “The Outsider” by Stephen King. My aim is to read forty books this year and that will be a mixture of fiction and non-fiction. Also, over the last year I have gotten really in Japanese fiction so I will be reading more of that as well. My long book for the year is “1Q84” trilogy by Haruki Murakami I’m currently about one hundred pages in.
